Ruchika Behal is a certified Health Coach & Detox Specialist. She received her training at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and is certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. She is passionate about helping people make empowered diet and lifestyle changes essential for living a healthy, happy life. Through her individual and group coaching programs she simplifies clean eating for her clients and helps them make the healthiest choices to nourish their unique bodies. Edith is Dr. Manisha Ghei’s Medical Assistant. She is a native of Rosenberg, TX. In 2008 she went to school to become a Medical Assistant after her father became very ill. While seeing him suffer through his illness, Edith knew that she wanted to help make a difference in other patient’s lives and help them in their health recovery process. “Helping my father get better was the best feeling!”. She graduated from Remington College, Houston in 2009 with a diploma in Medical Assisting. After graduating she worked at a large Family Practice office in Sugar Land from 2009-2012.
In Feb of 2012 Edith joined Praana Integrative Medicine & Holistic Health Ctr, PLLC as Dr. Ghei’s medical assistant. She has slowly been learning about Integrative and Functional Medicine and nutrition from Dr. Ghei, and gradually implementing some changes in her and her family’s eating habits and lifestyle and seeing healthy results. “From 2012 until now seeing the difference that Dr. Ghei is making in the lives of her patients and the passion and diligent effort with which she constantly teaches and motivates her patients to getting themselves feeling wholesome and well again, has not only been a great learning experience but also an extremely satisfying work experience for me”. Satnam Kaur has been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2014. She received her training and education at Texas Center for Massage Therapy and has attained her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, pre-physical therapy from Texas Woman’s University.With over 2000 plus hours of practical, clinical training, continuing education and her in-depth knowledge in anatomy, physiology, kinesiology and biomechanics, Satnam’s purpose is to make each session relaxing yet effective to relieve any pain, stress or tension. Additionally, her approach is to educate each client on the possible causes of their aches & pains and suggest lifestyle modifications to prevent or alleviate structure and movement impediments.
Satnam incorporates the Graston Technique in modalities to help improve movements in the joints and muscles by breaking down scar tissue & connective tissue. This practice of using a Rockblade to apply pressure and “scrape” the skin is to relieve tension and pain in areas of need such as back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome and tendon strains. Satnam is also an essential oils enthusiast and has been learning about the value and therapeutic effect of targeted use of essential oils from Dr. Ghei. She incorporates high quality essential oils and aromatherapy during her therapeutic massage sessions to further support her clients. Satnam is the newest member of our growing team and we are so excited to have her support our patients as Dr. Ghei is a big proponent of regular massage therapy. Satnam was born in Seattle, WA. She moved with her family to Sugar Land, TX in 2006. From childhood Satnam has always kept herself active and involved in a variety of sports such as basketball and swimming along with other wellness activities. In college, while pursuing her degree in kinesiology (Pre-Physical Therapy) she danced competitively with her university’s Fusion and Bhangra Dance teams. With her active lifestyle, her passion for studying biomechanics and movement of the body began to take shape.
In her spare time Satnam loves to travel, dance, and work-out. She also loves to try different cuisines and thinks herself as somewhat of a foodie. While putting her Massage Therapy License to use, Satnam plans to pursue her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in the future.
