Ayurvedic Healing

Ayurveda is the Science of Life. It is a 5000-year-old consciousness based system of healing which views disease as the absence of vibrant health. I recognizes dis- ease much before symptoms and lab abnormalities appear and its premise is to take action by mindful awareness practices of body and mind to prevent disease from manifesting. It respects the uniqueness of the individual and goes down to the root cause of the symptoms and includes a knowledge and study of the environmental factors which may be causing the disease. It comes from the root words ‘Ayus’ which means life and ‘Veda’ which means knowledge or learning. It views disease symptoms as a sign for us to pay conscious attention to the lifestyle choices we’re making. It teaches us that changes in our perceptions and interpretations of what’s happening around us can improve our overall health and well-being by balancing the mind body and spirit.

A brief educational session with the physician focusing on your individualized recommendations, stress management techniques and specific nutritional advice is included.

Dr. Manisha Ghei offers Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultations via phone also, as she realizes that not everyone can travel to see her in person. Initial Phone consultations can be 60 or 90 minutes

Using the principles of Ayurveda, your consult will address mind, body and spiritual health. By attending to the root cause of imbalances, you’ll leave empowered with a plan to enhance your wellbeing.

What does a typical consultation entail?

During a typical consultation, Dr. Ghei will review your medical and lifestyle history including factors related to stress and stress management. Based on this holistic assessment, an individualized treatment plan based on your mind-body constitution (dosha) will be developed.

Recommendations may include:
  • Personalized stress management techniques that will allow you to wash away any tension, fear, or conditioned thought-patterns that cloud the mind.
  • Dietary recommendations to reduce inflammation and identify proper nutrition for your mind-body type to balance your body and reduce any inbalances.
  • Tools to overcome emotional challenges so you may begin to experience a greater emotional well-being.

Phone consultations can benefit those dealing with a wide variety of health concerns including sleep disturbances, digestive difficulties, effects of stress, emotional challenges, and weight issues. Because phone or skype consultations do not include a physical examination, they are not intended to diagnose or treat specific medical conditions. If needed, the patient may be advised to seek ongoing medical attention by a local health care provider.

The purpose of the Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultations is to provide insight and recommendations on lifestyle habits to engage the body’s natural healing ability.
